Considering how many libraries are available for kontakt, it is a proven platform. It is a very peculiar situation but I think the reason could be as simple as there not being many libraries already available for it. Yes, I very much agree with this statement. I would very much like to see more libraries being created and for others to take notice and look closer at this really powerful synth/sampler. The automapping feature is so much easier to work with than in kontakt, the effects are great (amazing delay, reverse reverb, frequency shifter), and there are so many amazing synthesis methods including the best wavetable and granular engines I've ever used! It is amazing why there aren't more sound libraries out for Halion consider how much it is capable of achieving compared to the other competitors - let's be honest, mainly Kontakt! Halion 6 is such an incredible sampler/synth.
I highly encourage you to develop and release the sound library. I'd be happy to go into more detail about the whole process if you'd like to pm me. Every key must be recorded one by one and mapped one by one, then edited and adding loop points. Recording the hardware on the other hand, there is no way around it, lol. As long as you record the samples correctly, auto assigning them into the map is pretty much painless and well, automatic. All in all, it took nearly 3 months to go for the creation of the sound sources to the completion of the sound library. The creation of the sound library was divided in many steps, including designing the patches that were used as original sound sources. Going through your Atmospheres, it is very hard to find a patch that is not totally wonderful, and very usable. The library is registered and able to be used in the media bay with its own library icon. Patches are assigned extensive quick controls and Modulation Wheel for quick access and playability.Įasy Installation: Simply Download, Extract To Location of Choice (or default Steinberg Location) and double click the VSTSOUND file to register the Library in HALion's Library Manager.

The patches themselves are diverse, some are simple and elegant, while being highly unique, while others are vastly more complex and evolving - layering many multi-samples instruments with other granular or wavetable instruments alongside still other layers of live synthesis. Nearly every patch also blends in live synthesis to keep things even more alive and interesting, using any of HALion's synth engines: Auron, Trium, Skylab, Voltage and Anima. They were then programmed and enhanced in HALion with added filters, effects and macros. The multi-samples were key-mapped spanning on average about every 4 or 5 keys, though in some situations, every key is mapped. The library infuses nearly every type of sound engine within HALion 6, the multi-sampler, granular, wavetable, and synth engines, using unique and original sound sources.
